Story
Tokusa was born in Jamir with his sister Yuzuriha and came to train under the tutelage of Hakurei with both his sister and Shion. He was however discontent and felt that he would never become as strong as his two friends. One day the god Thanatos found him and saint that he would give him eternal life if he became a Specter. And that he would have to sacrifice his loved ones for it to become a reality. Tokusa therefore killed his own parents and sought to kill his sister as well. Yuzuriha had eventually returned to Jamir to resign from her role as a Saint so that she could carry their family blood line further after hearing of her family's demise. She returned to their home to mourn where Tokusa decided to make his appearance known. Yuzuriha rushed to the doorway and hugged her brother for being alive to which he said that he was sorry. He then equipped his Surplice to Yuzuriha's horror who asked why he wore it. He then told her of his meeting with Thanatos and what he had done and that it now was her turn to die as their parents. He unleashed an attack which destroyed their house, but Yuzuriha had been protected by Shion.[1]
When Shion questioned him of why he would sacrifice his loved ones for immortality he said that he wanted to be as strong as Shion and Yuzuriha. Because if he was immortal he would never have to fear death again so that he could surpass the two. Shion yelled at him saying that Hades forces was just using him, but that it was too late because he was already under Thanatos influence. The Aries Saint then prepared himself to kill the Specter to which Tokusa replied it would be interesting to see how strong the Aries Gold Saint was. They unleashed thousands of punches at each others, but they would all reach to a stalemate. Tokusa said Shion's techniques would not work since he could see them all because he had witnessed them during their training. But he would win because Shion had not seen his Specter powers Tokusa said as he jumped up and used his Sekishiki Nyoi Reirin technique. The shock wave created by the technique sent Shion stumbling backwards, making Yuzuriha rushing to his aid. Tokusa remarked how surprisingly fragile the Aries Cloth was, but Yuzuriha yelled back that she would not allow him to insult Shion like that. The Specter reminded her that she had retired from fighting but that she should not worry since he would carry on their family's warrior line for eternity in the Underworld. Yuzuriha said that he might be correct in that their family crest would end in the Underworld, and that she would carve it in with his blood. She started to unleash her Cosmo but was stopped by Shion who said that if she killed him she would be no better than a Specter who thought nothing of taking her loved ones' lives and that she should not take on such a burden. Tokusa became angered by Shion's speech and said that the Aries Saint had always been like that. Shion's strength and resolve had captured Yuzuriha's heart and made her admire him. And that she got further and further away from him her brother. But he would not let the Saint stop him now, especially if he is a Saint of Athena. Tokusa launched yet another Sekishiki Nyoi Reirin attack against Shion who countered with his own Stardust Revolution technique. Shion's technique countered every strike from Tokusa's technique to his disbelief. As he was struck by the technique he was amazed by the strength of a Gold Saint's technique. As Tokusa lay dying he reached his hand towards his sister who kind-heartedly took it in her own. He commented that his blood would stain her, but she did not mind because she was a warrior. Tokusa agreed with his sister as he drew his last breaths.[1]
The image of Tokusa was later used by one of Thanatos henchmen in an attempt to lure Yuzuriha to betray her fellow Saints. But she had a firm resolve and defeated the monster after a short reunion with her brother.
It would however seem that Tokusa had been revived by Hades and was first one of Aiacos' subordinates aboard his ship during the latter's fight with Sagittarius Sisyphos.[1] And would become one of the guardians of Hades' Demon Temples, and witnessed Wyvern Rhadamanthys' induction in their ranks. But Tokusa would not be seen or heard of after that event.[1]
Concept & Creation
Tokusa was created by Shiori Teshirogi for Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas as the brother of Yuzuriha and help establish her motives for becoming a Saint. The Yuzuriha gaiden was published during the publication of Aiacos battle with Sisyphus in a different magazine than Shonen Champion and was therefore not part of the original serialization. The anime adaptation decided to implement her backstory in the second season of the OVA series.[1] Tokusa has also been seen amongst the nine Demon Temple guardians and is considered the last one of them. But since The Lost Canvas series was forced to speed up its process Tokusa and his temple was not shown. So it can only be speculated what event would have transpired there.
Special Techniques
Sekishiki Nyoi Reirin
