Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas is a spin-off of the orginal manga by Masami Kurumada and an ongoing manga, which is created by Shiori Teshirogi.

Plot

250 years before the original series, the story takes place in the previous Holy War against Hades in the 18th century. In Italy, there are two boys - Alone, one of them has a pure heart without equal and Tenma, a boy with the strength of an adult or even stronger. Despite their different personalities, the two of them are best friends. However, destiny forces them to fight against each other. Revealing that Alone is Hades, the enemy of Athena since mythical age, Tenma, who has become the Pegasus Saint - a warrior of the Goddess, has to defeat him to save the world from chaos and disaster.

Tenma

Main Article: Tenma He is a little brute, but has a kind heart. Although he was not aware of it, he has always been able to use the force of his cosmo. One day, Dohko passes the village, in which he lived, and witnesses the sleeping power in that boy with his own eyes. The Saint offers Tenma to become a Saint, a warrior of the Goddess Athena, and to come with him to Sanctuary. After some months, Tenma obtains the Cloth of Pegasus and has to fight against the God of the Underworld Hades.

Alone

Main Article: Alone Alone is Tenma's best friend and a talented artist with a pure heart without equals. Consequently, he was chosen to become the vessel of the God Hades. Believing that death is salvation, he accepts his role and face Athena's army.

Sasha

Main Article: Sasha Sasha is the reincarnation of the Goddess Athena, who symbolize justice and love, in the 18th century. Usually, she is to be reborn in the Sanctuary. However, Sasha was born in Italy to poor parents and grew up as Alone's little sister. She spent her childhood with Tenma and her brother until the Gold Saint Sisyphus escorts her back to the Sanctuary.
