The Silver Cloths are the second class of the Cloths that Athena's Saints wield, and the second most common. They provide more protection than Bronze Cloths, and cover a decent portion of the body. Several of them have unique special abilities that make them stand out.
Cloth Traits
Like all Cloths, Silver Cloths are alive. They are named Silver Cloths due to the fact that they are all the color of Silver (in the manga). Using the Cosmo of the wearer, they function as protection. They are middle of the road in both coverage and protection: They take more damage than a Bronze Cloth, but less than a Gold Cloth. They are also between Bronze Cloths and Gold Cloths in the amount of skin they cover. They all freeze at -200 degrees Celsius and usually, the wearers can fight at speeds between mach 2 and mach 5. At their level of defensive capabilities, they are a step above fodder, but not the last resort in battle.
Cloth History
Silver-When Grunts Won't Cut It
The middle of the road, these Cloths are the most commonly seen in the Saint Seiya series, with 16 seen in the original series, Next Dimension adding one new Cloth thus far, and The Lost Canvas giving focus to two new Cloths. Despite this fact, many of the Silver Saints shown wearing these Cloths turned out to be fodder, with a few exception. This is likely due to the Saints themselves siding against Athena.

Notable Cloth Abilities
Crow: Why Are They Called a Murder of Crows?
The Crow Silver Cloth allows it's wielder to control a murder of crows to attack enemies with, and use their feathers in an attack. It's possibly based on the level of Cosmo control, as Athena makes the crows attack Jamian.
Cerberus: The Balls and Chain
The Cerberus Silver Cloth has Bronze Chains with Spiked Balls as weapons, which can be used offensively, and presumably for defense as well. They are supposed to have held back Cerberus himself, but Shun and his Andromeda Chains prove to be superior, despite being a Bronze Saint. This could be due to his increased strength.
Auriga: Olympic Disc Thrower
The Auriga Silver Cloth has Twin Discs as weapons, which can be used offensively to cut at foes. They tend to return to the user after being thrown, but the level of control they can be used isn't quite clear.
Perseus: Stone Shield
The Perseus Silver Cloth has the Medusa Shield, a powerful shield with a unique special ability. The shield has the face of Medusa on it, and when it's eyes open, the light released from it can turn all who see it into stone. The only way to avoid the effects are to be blind, or to avoid looking at it.
Sagitta: Even a Silver Loves Some Gold
The Sagitta Silver Cloth has a mighty Golden Arrow as a weapon, which can be used offensively to pierce the heart of an opponent. Once it goes into an opponent's flesh, only the power of Athena can remove it, making it an attack even stronger than some Gold Saints.
Lyra: A Legendary Lyre
The Lyra Silver Cloth has a powerful Silver Lyra as a weapon, which can be used offensively or defensively. It can manipulate illusions, use energy to explode the air around an enemy, put people to sleep, and even extend it's strings to slice a foe to pieces.
Crateris: Cheers!
The Crateris Silver Cloth has unique properties in it's constellation form when water is added to it. When someone looks into the reflecting waters of the Cloth, the future can be seen, for that person. To drink water from it can heal the drinker, and restore their strength.
Tazeta (Scutum): Big Shield
The Tazeta Silver Cloth has great defensive capabilities due to it's Tazeta Shield, a powerful, large shield that surpasses almost all other shields. It proves stronger than the Bronze Dragon Shield, though it doesn't hold up the Libra Gold Shield, nor the Aegis Shield.
