Shunrei(春麗) is a young lady Shiryu met when he first arrived at the Rozan Peaks. Shunrei was abandoned by any parents she may have had at a young age, and was found and raised by Dohko.

Shunrei has no Saintly training, but her prayer has been shown more than once as a thing of great power, capable of protecting and influencing the fate of Shiryu though he may be many miles away, or in another dimension. Shunrei prays faithfully every time Shiryu is away on an important mission, by the waterfall on the mountain they live and train on. Shunrei has not stopped this habit of prayer though it has lead to her life being threatened when Cancer Deathmask attacked her, enraged that she was preventing him having his way with Shiryu.

Shunrei and Shiryu share a bond that is easily interpreted as romantic. She takes good care of him when he is at home, and wishes he did not have to put himself in danger as a Bronze Saint. When Shiryu is injured, including when he lost his sight, Shunrei was a pillar of strength and medical attention for him.

Shunrei lives with Dohko, and takes care of his meals and home. He teaches her about herbs and other mountain knowledge, as well as guiding her generally in her life. He often explains to her why she cannot stop Shiryu from following his destiny as a Saint, though he is heard to sympathise with her about her worries for Shiryu's life.
