Lymnades - Apparently Hideous Lake Nymphs
According to Myth, Lymnades are a type of Naiad, nymphs who held power over bodies of water, that specialized with freshwater lakes. Perhaps the reflective nature of such a lake was inspiration for his unique ability to reflect what was in a person's heart.
Know Thy Enemy, Know Thy Self...In Drag
Caça first appeared in volume 16 of Saint Seiya as the Marine General who is protecting the Antartic Ocean Pillar. He was the fourth of the Marine Generals to be challenged by a Saint in order to protect his Pillar. He defended his Pillar against several Saints, with Hyoga being his first victim. He took the form of whoever his opponent was close to, and wouldn't want to harm, then dealt a harsh blow when their defenses were down. It took Ikki, unwilling to bend his wrath (even against his own brother's image), to defeat Caça. His broken Scale was last seen on Caça, as he saw, too late, that Esmeralda would have been the one image Ikki couldn't have fought back against.
While likely having been used in the past, the Lymnades Scale doesn't appear during the past Holy War, Poseidon mostly being removed from such a conflict.
This is the form the Lymnades Scale takes during the original Saint Seiya series. Caça came to wear the Scale and serve Poseidon at some point before Julian Solo became Poseidon. The Lymnades Scale covers almost all of the body, as with the other Marine General Scales. The Lymnades Scale has a unique ability that allows the wearer to take the image of whoever is in the victims heart, and even seem to be able to use their techniques, or at least appear to do so. The Scale was last seen as Ikki damaged it and left Caça dying.
Special Abilities of the Lymnades Scale
The Lymnades Scale has a unique ability that allows the wearer to take an image from within the opponent's heart, and impersonate a person they care about, including appearance, voice, physical mannerisms, what they know of that person, and even appear to use their abilities. Even when the opponents knows this, they can find it hard to attack due to how realistic this ability is to the foe.
Techniques used by Lymnades Mariners
"Salamander Shock" is an offensive technique used by Caça when battling Shun. Caça waves his hand around as if a Salamander's tail was whipping his enemy. The strike was strong enough to hurt the non-defending Shun, but wasn't strong enough to damage his Cloth.
