Story

Specters and their bondages.

Fyodor lived a normal life in the 18th century when he suddenly became a Specter due to the imminent revival of the god Hades. The Heavenly Wounded Star and the Mandrake Surplice sought him out and transformed him into one of Hades' 108 Specters. After realizing his oath to serve the Lord of the Underworld Fyodor journeyed to the Forest Cathedral to await the complete resurrection of his lord. The god had chosen the young boy named Alone as his vessel for this Holy War with Athena but was still slumbering inside of the boy. Pandora managed to awake their god and when he realized who he was he called for an audience with all of the Specters. Fyodor attended and was shown a star map of the 88 constellations, and each of those constellations represented the life of a Saint so when a Saint was defeated it disappeared from the map. Hades asked them all if they would paint the world in color of darkness for him which they all replied in unison that they would. Griffon Minos was then ordered to sortie and attack Athena's Sanctuary, and Fyodor was stationed to guard the entrance to the Underworld, Yomotsu Hirasaka. [1]

Mangina

Some time later when was patrolling around the mountain he heard a very loud voice and thought that it might be a very energetic dead that had finally arrived. But when he got to the person he noticed it was one of Athena's Saints, holding a tight grip on one of the Skeleton guards. He mocked the saint out loud for serving an underdog like Athena and grinned when the Pegasus Saint charged at him and claimed they were the ones who had changed Alone. Fyodor unleashed his Strangle Shrill technique at the Saint which knocked the boy unconscious. The Specter took the Saint and went to a ruined building so that he could put him in chains and keep an eye on him. Eventually the Saint Tenma woke up and made a fuss over being enchained. When Fyodor appeared he remarked that the Saint's loud voice was all there was to him. The Pegasus demanded to know who he were and why he had put him in chains. Fyodor smirked as he introduced himself and asked if he was not the best friend of the boy Alone who had turned into Hades. He did not know why the Saint was still living and thought the god had perhaps shown some mercy when killing the Saint. Tenma became enraged and shouted for him to stop calling Alone kindhearted while trying to kick the Specter. The Mandrake retaliate with a small burst of shock-waves from the mandrake head in his surplice which pushed down the Saint. He proceeded to call him pitiful but that he would tell him something good so that he would not feel alone. He then revealed that Minos was on his way to attack the Sanctuary so that the kindhearted would send more of his friends to the Underworld. Fyodor told him to wait there and to look forward to that time, and walked away while Tenma cursed him.[1][1]

Kinda cool

As he was walking away he heard the arrival of new intruders and returned to the Saint only to find Unicorn Yato and Yuzuriha. He remarked that they deserved the death penalty for sneaking through the entrance to the world of the dead, and with a swift move he came up behind Yuzuriha and used his Strangle Shrill technique. His attack was however blocked by the Unicorn Saint who stood firm and tall. It did not take the Saint long to realize his shock waves were paralysis inducing as well. He continued to explain the story of the Mandrake and that when it was pulled out it would produce such a scream that would kill anyone around it. Like this he said as he shot a shock-wave at Yuzuriha who was about to attack him. Yato became enraged and charged at him while shouting how he dared do that to a woman. But Fyodor called him a fool because his punches would not be any effective while he was paralyzed, and with no effort he waved him away. He pulled him up and held the Saint by his throat, and wondered how they had gotten into the world of the dead. But since they had no connection to Hades he could kill them there. Yato told him mockingly to do it and kicked Fyodor in his stomach with his Unicorn Gallop technique so that the Specter's helmet flew of. Fyodor became furious as his Surplice started to crack and punched the Saint right into the wall. He told them they were an interference and unleashed yet another shock wave at the charging Yuzuriha. Suddenly the Pegasus Saint burst free from his chains and said it was his turn now. Fyodor was in disbelief that the Pegasus Saint could still move and was about to unleash another Strangle Shrill when the Saint used his Pegasus Sui Seiken technique. The attack destroyed his surplice and sent him flying into the wall, and as he was dying he remarked in amazement that he had been hit by a hundred punches at the same time in the same spot.[1][1]

After Griffon Minos' failed attack on the Sanctuary, Hades decides to start reviving the Specters that die. Fyodor is among them that gets revived.[1]

Concept & Creation

Fyodor was created by Shori Teshirogi for Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas and does not appear in any of the other series. In the anime adaptation, Fyodor is shown as being amongst them who are revived by Hades in contrast to the manga where he could not be seen. He was however not seen or heard from after he was revived.[1][1]

Special Techniques

"Strangle Shrill"

This technique is dependent on the mandrake head that is embedded in the Mandrake Surplice. When Fyodor uses the technique the head opens its mouth and sends out a loud shock-wave that can send a person flying. The shock-wave does also have the effect to paralyse its victim.
