Story
Edward was awakened as a Specter in the 18th Century when the 108 Demon Stars were unsealed due to Hades imminent revival. The Earthly Flying Star and the Sylph Surplice sought the man out and transformed him into one of Hades' 108 Specters. Edward made his way to Italy and joined his fellow Specters in the Forest Cathedral to await their lord's awakening. When Hades had awakened in the boy Alone, his chosen vessel of this Holy War he called for an audience with all of the Specters. Edward attended alongside his fellow Specters and was shown a map of the stars and constellations projected in the ceiling of Hades' throne room. Each constellation represented a a Saint and when that Saint died the constellation was blacked out on the projection. Griffon Minos was the ordered to take some of his subordinates and attack Athena's Sanctuary. The attack was however unsuccessful ans both Minos and his Specters died, but they could still be revived by Hades' power. Therefore several Saints had been tasked with creating a rosary that would bind the Specters' souls and hinder them from reviving. Sylph Edward and five other Specters were then ordered to attack the pagoda in Jamir, kill the saints that had infiltrated the Underworld before and hinder the creation of the rosary.[1]
The Specters had made their way to Jamir unhindered and stood right before the narrow walkway to the Pagoda. Edward explained that their targets were in the pagoda and that they would kill them all and send the back to the Underworld. The started running over the walkway full in spirit, but Edward started to noticed that something was wrong. The walkway was getting longer and longer, and soon someone spoke to his and the other Specters' minds. He said they should take the opportunity to go ahead because it would lead them back to the Underworld. In front of them appeared a white image of a man walking towards them. They demanded to know who he was but as they realized who he was they were all blown of the walkway by Virgo Asmita's power. The Saint declared that he had come to enlighten the Specters. Edward fell to his death as he and the others were impaled on the spiky rocks at the bottom of the ravine.[1]
When the Sylph Specter revived, he discovered himself impaled on a stalagmite and a smirking Cat Sith Cheshire staring at him. He asked why Cheshire was there as he mocked Edward of being careless. He told him he was out there on Pandora's orders and said that the Sylph Specter would not be able to show himself in public for being defeated so easily, but that it did not matter because they could not die. Cheshire then told them to hurry up so that they could go and finish Pegasus Tenma and the others. As they came up they immediately started to attack the pagoda in an effort to lure them out. Cheshire was a little surprised that their attacks had not damaged the pagoda and ordered Edward and the other Specters to bring him the Gold Saint and the others for Pandora's sake. A burst of meteors suddenly flew out of the pagoda which stopped the Specters advance. Out from the pagoda jumped Pegasus Tenma in his new Pegasus Bronze Cloth challenging the Cat Sith Specter. To the Saint's surprise the Specters rose up, so Cheshire explained that since they were warriors of the underworld they had the protection of Hades. Edward agreed saying that they were immortal and that they were different from the Saints. The Specters charged at Tenma but reinforcements came as Crane Yuzuriha and Unicorn Yato appeared. The Saints kept defeating the Specters, but they kept reviving. Cheshire said they did not understand the meaning of immortality, because it meant their struggle would never end and that they had no chance of winning from the beginning. Suddenly a large Cosmo was spreading in the area from atop the pagoda. The Cat Sith Specter ordered Edward to attack the upper part of the tower sensing that something was going on there. Edward was however stopped by Tenma in time for Asmita to burn his Cosmo enough to complete the rosary. The Cosmo and the light around the pagoda kept expanding and suddenly all of the Specters were surrounded by images of demons and ghost that were floating around them. Cheshire did not waver and commanded Edward to reach the top and defeat the Gold Saint. Asmita however informed them they were too late, and to accept his invitation to the deep sleep of death and used his Tenbu Horin technique. Edward and the others instantly lost their lives, and fell lifeless down to the ground.[1][1][1]
