Names of SS characters in greek
« on: January 20, 2017, 01:32:05 PM »
Hey guys, I thought of creating a thread with the names of SS characters written in greek. You guys can use it as a reference for artistic or writing purposes or anything :)

I only included their names not their titles as Gold Saints, if you guys want me to include the title of a Saint(s) let me know in a comment below!

I include their names both in small and capital letters.

Characters in alphabetical order:

Bronze Saints

Hyoga        Χυόγκα      ΧΥΟΓΚΑ
Ikki              Ίκκι          ΙΚΚΙ
Seiya          Σέιγια        ΣΕΙΓΙΑ
Shiryu        Σίρυου      ΣΙΡΥΟΥ
Shun           Σούν        ΣΟΥΝ

Gold Saints (Kanon included)

Aldebaran    Αλντέμπαραν    ΑΛΝΤΕΜΠΑΡΑΝ
Aiolia            Αιόλια                ΑΙΟΛΙΑ
Aiolos           Αίολος               ΑΙΟΛΟΣ
Aphrodite     Αφροδίτη          ΑΦΡΟΔΙΤΗ
Camus         Κάμους              ΚΑΜΟΥΣ
Deathmask   Ντέθμασκ        ΝΤΕΘΜΑΣΚ
Dhoko           Ντόκο                ΝΤΟΚΟ
Kanon           Κάνον                KANON
Milo               Μίλο                   ΜΙΛΟ
Mu                 Μου                   ΜΟΥ
Saga             Σάγκα                ΣΑΓΚΑ
Shaka            Σάκα                  ΣΑΚΑ
Shura           Σούρα                ΣΟΥΡΑ

1) In SS Aiolos' name is mentioned incorrectly as "ΑΙΟΡΟΣ" (AIOROS) Kurumada uses the greek "Ρ" (R) instead of an "Λ" (L) but I think thats just because in Japan "L" and "R" are the same, though in greek the correct spelling of the name is "ΑΙΟΛΟΣ".

2) Aiolia's name in small letters can be written either as "Αιόλια" or "Αιολία" both are correct, only the pronounciation changes.

3) I am not sure about Camus' name. I mean in the anime its pronounced as "Kamy" which in greek would be "ΚΑΜΥ", (because Kurumada based his name on some french author, so he basically used the french accent), but I've writen it as "ΚΑΜΟΥΣ" since its the direct translation of his english name.

4) Milo's name is derived from the greek island Milos.

5) Deathmask's name...well I just translated the english pronounciation into greek, not the meaning of the name.

If you guys want me to include names from other characters or even pronounciations of the names in greek plz let me know in a comment below! :)

Oh, looks like I was right that Kurumada made a spelling error with Aiolos. There's no way that "Aioros" variation was deliberate, he's too slapdash and lazy for deeper meanings.
