This game if unchanged or unchecked WILL suffer a balancing issues BS has.
I mean, have you seen Shun v1 fight with Seiya God cloth?  What is the point of obtaining a God cloth and get whipped to death by v1 cloth + spam moves?

If Shun is that strong then the whole series could just end quite quickly, Shun just go kick everyone's asses under the sea, in hell etc.

It is still going to get the $ from the fans though...

But they have to make something with balance....if there was difference because of their armors...then there would be no meaning to the other characters...let's all get anyone that wears God Cloth...or Hades or Athena....the others don't matter they are weak. That's not right no matter how you look at it. DBZ and Naruto have the same mechanic...it's a Fighting game...what they do in the anime or manga doesn't matter...they are just characters you choose to fight with that is all.

Something like that would work in story mode, and some special VS mode, but not the regular vs mode. :)

I saw thread of this at 4chan some days ago.

Looks decent-ish to me, as in "look at all that stuff recycled from Brave Soldiers, holy shit". Overall, that's something what only could have been expected so I'm not gonna get all salty over small things like cutting major corners, wrapping same old fluff in new shiny wrapping.

Even if I may give into tempation to badmouth this "new" game, I sure as hell know I'm probably just gonna buy it nevertheless and and spend couple of days with it with my SS appreciating homies.
On and on the road does go

Yeah, I agree.  I don't think characters ought to be tiered off.  While there is something akin to that in that Gundam Extreme VS game Mu keeps mentioning, it's nowhere near that extreme.  Even if the RX-78 doesn't have as flashy of attacks as something like the Nu or the Master Gundam, it still has enough moves that it's a force in its own right.  The point system is more or less icing on the cake.

@Mu:  I don't see how having other characters "teleport" is an issue.  Everyone in the cast can at least move at the speed of sound, and most of them at the speed of light.  Mu and Shion being able to legitimately teleport isn't going to play much of a role when everyone is moving that fast.  Hell, I think the only time they teleported in the middle of a fight in the series was when they were running away.

Note that I'm not arguing that Brave Soldiers was a great game, or even what I'd call good.

I think the issue with making a StS game is that most of what we witness in fights in the series tends to be two dudes firing off super moves with little movement in-between, so developers have a lot of legwork to do on their own when they make the games.  The other issue is that the license is in the hands of DIMPS, who has never really made too good of a StS game and is still preoccupied with helping Capcom with Street Fighter.

What I meant was that they could make certain char defence a bit more or less as well as their power speed and move lists. Ie Akuma is powerful but has less defence, chunli is fast but has charge moves, sub zero can freeze but requires timing etc.  Look at Dals, he has long stretchy pokes but slow as hell. Not everyone has the same moves and dash cancels and spams.  Look at Dan his moves are terrible, but once you pulled off a win you know you played him right. Not because you got a move that requires pressing the button 3 times repeatedly and you win the whole thing.. Look. How awesome it would be if the game is developed properly and gained new fans.

@GVmanX

The whole point is make each character play style stand out. The whole appearing behind the back mechanic is like giving everybody teleport like Dhalism of Street Fighter. It just makes it less special.

Quick question, are you especially dissatisfied with it because the teleport concerns Mu? ;D

Eh we know for sure that Deathmask and Shaka know teleport not just Shion and Mu...and I think that all Gold Saints can teleport...

That maybe true but it's still going to be Mu that specialise in teleporting skills, if you base it on his fight with Papillion Myuu and their talk about how you can't really teleport in the sanctuary.

Btw, is Myuu based directly off Mu or just a coincident? Was it based off something else or was Kuru just lazy on coming up with new names?  :nani:

Teleport from one point of the Temple to another is something they all can do...just not let's say from Aries Temple to Pisces Temple...heck not even to Taurus Temple.

I wouldn't be surprised...if Myu and Mu are actually the same name...I have seen a few series that the name Mu was pronounced as Myu....which I found weird.

I'd say Mu specializes in Telekinesis and has good teleporting skills because of his ability. Mental powers are Mu's thing.

First things first, you can teleport inside a Temple not from one into the other and yer you can't just teleport into Sanctuary.

And yes as a Mu fan I'm a little annoyed with the cheap teleport but the main issue for me has always been *fight style*. Saint Seiya is not Dragonball where you suddenly appear behind somebody and hit them. Even if you want that, you can't just assume every freaking Saint out there can do that... And even if you don't mind that either, you still need to regulate it. otherwise, it's cheap.

So, I'll do what I always do as a Seiya fan since the beginning, I'll wait until they get it right... if it takes 10 years fine, I waited that long for a Hades anime...

We're dealing with people who can move at the speed of sound at the very least.  I don't see how moving behind someone really fast is out of the ordinary.  If you made fights 1/1 with how they are in the manga, you'd have dudes standing still while they kept shooting one another with attacks that made the background really pretty.

It was regulated; you could only do it if you had at least 1/4 of your cosmo gauge filled.

Again, I didn't think Brave Soldiers was all that good of a game, but you're just being silly.

I feel like a dummy...

I was playing Brave Soldiers for funsies and I decided to randomly push L1, forward on the analog stick, and X at the same time really fast and no hold down. I didn't know this was a thing... I always did the zig-zag thing... Wow.

You can call me silly or I can you being clueless. BS was not even close to being regulated... If it was, you won't have these balance issues in the first place. The whole suddenly appearing behind your opponent is one of the contributing factors of the unbalance. Without that, even if the game was not perfect, the flaws won't show as easily...

We can agree to disagree if you like...

@Flamzeron

Yer, you can do both... You didn't know? ;)
