@pulsatex: Don't watch GT, it's just a huge disappointment to most fans of Dragonball.

Goku is way too overpowered in GT and all the other good guys are pretty much useless.

I did like both the anime and manga of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z but I wouldn't say it is one of my favourites. But I could still watch it. Ok there some annoying fillers, but that happens in many mangas. I didn't watch GT, but as far as Z goes, even at then end, Goku had trouble defeating Buu.

And by the way, Goku died two times in the whole series. Against Raditz and Cell. Also what I like about Dragon Ball is that Goku isn't meant to be, even if he is, the strongest character. Vegeta has greater potential, Gohan even more, but he didn't kep his training. And obviously Goten and Trunks which achieved Saiya at an early age. Goku is just a way to say, if you work you ass off you can kick ass.

Well, if he didn't have any trouble, it would make kind of a lame arc, now wouldn't it Smiley ?
Anyway, dying isn't a real argument in DB, since you can just be revived by the dragonballs... Always a lot of crying and being sad and then instantly they realize... we can wish them back! Oh, no problem then...
I kind of agree that Gohan is an interesting character, so is Vegeta, but the kids and their 'natural' SSJ-transformations don't cut it with me.
And Goku does defeat almost every villain in the entire anime/manga:
- Rhadditz (with Piccolo's help)
- Nappa
- Vegeta (help from Gohan and Kuririn)
- Ginyu
- Frieza
- Buu
And he saves the earth by disposing of Cell (momentarily).
DBZ has its moments, but Goku > all gets old after a while...

Radditz: Well I think it is the other way around with Radditz, it was Piccolo who killed him with the help of Goku, because Goku didn't have any new technique, and as far as I've seen, Piccolo gave him the finishing blow with Goku's help.
Nappa: You are correct.
Vegeta: Actually Goku had been defeated, he had all his bones broken down by Monkey Vegeta, so, if Gohan, Krillin and Yajirobe hadn't showed up, well that would've been the end of DBZ. So I would say it was a lose for Goku, and a win for Goku & Co.
Ginyu: Ok he killed all except Jesse and Ginyu. But yeah he did "win" against him, although he was all beaten up. Don't argue about the fact Goku was stronger and he could've won against Ginyu, sometimes strength isn't everything their is to battle.
Freeza: Ok, he beat him at Namek, but was actually killed by Trunks on earth. But you wanted Piccolo to beat Freeza, you know it was all for the SSJ to appear.
Buu: Yeah Goku beat him with the help of Mr. Satan, even though I hate to admit it. If it wasn't for him, he wouldn't have made that spirit bomb.

Still, Rhadditz was beaten because of Goku. Picollo couldn't have killed him without his help.
I agree on the Vegeta thing, although Vegeta himself kept seeing it as a defeat by Goku's hands.
Goku locked Ginyu in his frog body, so he defeated him.
By the time Freeza came to earth, he was inferior to 2 fighters, namely Trunks and Goku (who was the strongest of them both atm). The original defeat (when Frieza was still supposed to be uber-powerful) was at the hands of the latter.
And Buu... Well, let's just say it's lame... We have, Gotenks (who mabe could have taken him down), Gohan, Vegetto and then Goku comes and finishes the job (obviously, no one else can steal his spotlight), disregarding his speech from 5 minutes before where he stated it wasn't his job to protect everyone anymore.

Oh well, everyone his own opinion, I assume.

Well this the highlight of DBZ that all fans are waiting for, just for the SSJ to appear. After the appearance of SSJ3 all thing went downhill from there. As we all can predict the outcome of the series.

yo apparently there is a big rumor about a remake of dragon into a live movie action with real american actors. And also it could rival even surpass by far the special effects and animation of the recent movie Transformers. It's due in august 2008 and the main actors for Goku, piccolo and chichi have already been selected.
