Ok, why is this not available to US fans, and are there subs for the original anime yet?

Nope english subs...my guess is that the poll didn't get enough interest

That's weird. The poll apparently warranted Spanish territories to get it, unless they were planning for a while.

Saint Seiya is UBER popular in Spanish speaking territories...so it doesn't surprise me one bit

The sad truth is that the US and other english speaking countries may never ever get a quality sub of Saint Seiya. We're about 15 years too late

That's true, but I was of the understanding that the poll was a global one.

I don't think it's too late. Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura are getting new dubs from Viz and NIS America respectively. I feel that Saint Seiya has just as much potential. As a Tales fan, I'm used to waiting.

Yes, it's never been easy to be a Saint Seiya fan here in the United States.

I feel like it's probably even harder down here in Australia...  :-.-:

We got the whole manga and can get it digitally easily now, and we got subs for The Lost Canvas and Omega, plus DVD releases for the first 73 episodes and 4 movies.

Honestly, series have had far harder times here. It's getting better.

And while this is true, you also should factor in that every effort towards Saint Seiya is wasted on terrible things like Omega and reboots when they could just Brotherhood/Crystal/Final Act/Kai/JoJo's2012 it considering that that seems to be the trend at the moment and would probably do far better than literally everything else they've done. It makes it feel like the real Saint Seiya will be forgotten save the original fandom and the few chapters of ND we get every once in a while. We'll never get a perfect anime or more amazing games or anything like that at this rate.

What Japan does with the franchise doesn't matter. Besides, with the success of Crystal, I wouldn't be surprised if Toei gave another show the same treatment. Legend of Sanctuary seems to have done okay at the box office.
