From what I've read of the chapter through spoilers, everything is new in the chapter BUT Worm vs Leo, and the hell butterfly watching a former Saint (that's just Pandora having more than two brain cells, though). So, yes, they can do something new. In fact, large chunks of the series have been new. Several fold over anything old. But, everytime someone sees ONE similarity, they immediately declare nothing's new. It's really starting to get old. I'm pretty sure we've never had an armored lion fight Specters to the death, Deathmask certainly didn't survive, and continue to guard Sanctuary (he certainly never gave anyone a speech about loyalty),

No sense of originality In this manga.... First time I see an author copying his old work... Don't tell me of the small changes because they will still not be diverting away from the classic plot and scenes.... Imagine the scene were vermeer talks to pandora about not trusting suikyo and then zelos warning vermer, etc.... It was exactly like rhadamanthys scene in the classic.... LC and Episode G faaaaar surpassed masami kurumada.... It's better if he hands over the tenkai hen to Shiori

I don't remember the Cancer Saint killing the Worm Specter, or an armored lion killing the fodder Specters. In fact, Leo didn't really even fight at all in his temple. The closest he did was drag Worm out of the ground more thoroughly. All you're saying is because two or three scenes of the past that are similar to the future (which, I'll remind you, Greek Mythology has a trend of events repeating themselves, it's thematic to the mythos), the several fold more events that happen and are original don't count? You can't ignore the work as a whole, which has several original moments (especially in the future, with the attacks from the Satellites, Callisto sending an Angel after Seiya, time travel with Chronos, new ally characters like Hecate, the Witch of the Moon, it's building up towards the assault on Olympus, once this past Holy War ends). Suikyo being both a new Saint, and then a Specter, turned in order to keep his brother's soul safe (mentioned by a new Specter, no less, the Gargoyle Specter), the Pope actually having unique powers (having trapped Shijima and Athena in a place meant to stop enemies of Athena), the Cancer Saint actually helping his fellow Saints, to the point of even crying tears for Suikyo's cursed fate. Taurus may have died, but it was in a battle against a Judge, where he did significant damage to his Surplice, a step up from past Taurus Saints. Learning more of the Gemini's situation is actually quite an interesting touch as well. Leo having a sacred Lion fight with him? I've enjoyed that so far. I can honestly say, with no sarcasm or doubt on my end, that Kurumada is not only the best in his franchise, but one of the best shonen mangaka there is. Nobody has more heart than this man. When other creators might give up on a series, he kept the torch going for 15 years before finally getting to be able to continue the series, bringing the series back a few years prior with OVAs, a movie (that he rejected, being substandard), and letting Okada make a manga. He's turned his beloved series into a franchise full of many stories. I've enjoyed EG and LC, but Kuru's work has just been more enjoyable for me. If Kuru stopped working on the franchise, and passed it on to Shiori? It would pretty much be dead to me.

the most sane option for you is to stop reading, if it bugs you so much. last i checked, deathmask has never used the atomic butt drop, er, i mean Peach Attack. nor do i remember the cancer saint being comedical and merciful to those who are loyal. sorry, puttin the name saint seiya on episode G is a crime against the series.

This is the first time I post here. I just wanted to say I agree 100% with Mewzard. I think Saint Seiya Next Dimension is awesome. Yes, kurumada builds his stories on his previous stuff, but he always did that even when he created the original saint seiya, he used a lot of ideas there that he had used on his previous works. But I find his work brilliant, despite reusing some ideas, his stories have a freshness, originality and unpredictability that very few mangakas/writers can achieve.
In my opinion ND is far superior to spinoffs like LC.

Considering that, yes, history repeating itself is a staple of Greek mythology, I'd say it's actually fridge brilliance that Kurumada has managed to reinsert similar events in a whole different war without it looking forced. Same goes for Teshirogi and LC too. If the Holy War always happens every 200-ish years, then it means there are bound to be similarities between each war. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." and such.
Now, if these recalls start to pop up in the Tenkai portion of ND, then something is definitely amiss. Kurumada has been handling that story pretty well so far, though.
As for the chapter itself: Oh shit, Goldie is awesomesauce. And for a second I thought Papillion was gonna show up since "butterflies" were mentioned. Maybe he still will.

Wow, Goldie ripped one of the Specters in half o.o LOL Deathtoll killed the Worm Specter by buttsmashing him Okay, Kurumada you got this one xD Okay let' see now, the score is currently 9+8= 17 Specters dead of 108 1? Saint dead of 88? (Ox's death is very ambiguous to me for some reason) Specters still have the advantage, but we'll see how things turn out.
