I never understood why the gold saints do not fight in the anime, either on Asgard or poisedon arc. Why they don't go fight?

In the Poseidon Arc, they fight a little at the beginning in the manga, but later stay in Sanctuary in preparation for hades. During the Asgard arc, however, the fights at the beginning get eliminated since both Asgard and Poseidon happen in succession, and they stay in Sanctuary to prepare for Hades as well.

A better question would be where the hell are they during the movies, since all  of them but the 5th one happen before Hades.

The Gold Saints were introduced after the first two movies (look at the Bronze Cloths) and they were "killed" at the start of the 4th one.

The 3rd one, however, they have no excuse. Most of the fandom believes that they were all in a sleepover at Mu's tower in Jamir  ROFL Smiley 3

Ok I don't see how standing still in the sanctuary prepares them for hades. In the same vein, why dokho and Mu do not go through the 12 houses to save athena in the first 12 house story arc?

In the manga, Roshi told Mu long time ago they couldn't intervene because it was test for Athena from the heavens... Fans are free to interpret what that means...

As for Hades, weakening Athena's forces have always been his usual tactic... Letting his forces just walk in and kill most of the people there is not wise... And of course, Athena Cloth was later revealed to be Athena Statue so letting him destroy that wouldn't be wise either...

Because this is Seiya's (+Shiryu's +Hyoga's +Shun's +Ikki's) story. You know, Main Characters. That doesn't exactly change, no matter how much most of the fandom seems to 'omg hate them so much' for whatever reason ("they killed goldies Cry" & "omg they're so stupiddd!!").

Powerful allies, like gold saints, helping main characters can be used to good effect in story, but making them completely steal heroes' thunder will lead to bad, incoherent plot. Of course Kuru could have made gold saints operate somehow differently than... just standing there, but even if in such a scenario, I bet Seiya and co yould have retained their hero protagonist position and saved the day with most of the panel/screen time invested in them.

Boring not in-story explanation is boring, I know.

Great scanlation, it helps to see that part.

I always liked the main 5 bronzes. Tho I wouldn't mind if the golds had -something-  more interesting to do at certain times.... XD

Well, Gold Saints don't stayed at the Sanctuary only to prepare for Hades they where there because the Athena's Seal on the 108 specter's tower would break out at any moment. North Star was almost in position it usualy is before the great Holly War that Atena is up against in every generation since the beginning of the Juunikyu Hen, when Saga killed Shion at Starhill in the manga he makes this observation.

Dohko couldn't let the Rozan's old Peaks because it was his duty since the last Hades Holly War end, and like was said above He said Mu don't interfere because it was a test to prove that Saori was the Real Atena. All that 'unloyal' Gold Saints (Bad Saga personality, Stroger must rule Deathmask and Afrodite, blind to the real justice Shura and why don't say the  greed Kanon) was the stars/destiny cosmos testing Atena (and I think that ocour in every generation for that reason). I think that's why they all have redeemed thenselves in Hades.

Well, in Poseidon Aioria (impulsive as always, and I love it) wanted to go to Submerse Temple help Bronze Saints, but Mu reminded him from the Dohko alert that they souldn't leave the sanctuary in warning tp protect it from a most danger ivasion.

*... Why am I upping so much old threads ? *

Actually, the real reason is that they didn't have their place in the scenario XD. But then, perhaps it's for things to be coherent... I mean, gold saints are meant to be a lot more powerful than Poseidon's shoguns (Okay, bronzies have improved from 12 temples battle, but still, they defeated the Marinas very easily if we compare the battle to the one with the Gold saints -where only Death Mask and Aphrodite were "loyally" defeated without help or super sacrifice moves-). So if the gold saints went to the battle, there would have been no big plot, or they would have been turned less powerful to fit the scenario (... though he might have done that a lot.); so for plot's sake (or for GS' myth), it's better that they did not help.
For Asgard, as it was anime-only, of course, you wouldn't see other than the heroes... Just like the movies, you see XD. (But just WHY is Aldebaran the one both the manga and the anime like to «sacrifice» to show opponent's power ?!)
