I'm actually liking Omega quite a bit so far, though I won't make any speculations as to who Kouga's parents are, didn't say that Saori found him and raised him?

Also lol that Dolphin guy, he was so annoying >.> I didn't mind Hook though!

Mars is actually Kouga's father, just like Darthvader to Luke.

Mars: I'm your fatherrrrrrr.
Kouga: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Saint Seiya borrow the Yoda character design once. It wouldn't be strange to see another inspiration here.

Oh no no no no. I wont be happy, if Kouga makes this "who my [strike]parents are[/strike] is my father?"-pondering a habit. Personally I wouldn't care if big revelation of blood relation between Seiya (+ Saori) and Kouga would be on it's way, but this I say, it'd be tacky writing any and everyway. In my headcanon Athena continues to be virgin/nonsexual... so don't you dare to let me down now Toei. Surely I cannot be the only one who never took Seiya's ever growing concern of Athena as romantic interest? (He wasn't exactly the only one, but as he is the main character we viewers see many things through his perspective, and his emotions will be shown more in detail.)

Also, I wish Kouga would get compared to Seiya little less. I've always hated when two stand-alone stories share the same world/milieu/universe. Too often the hero of the later coming story, especially if it is placed in future compared to older story, is haunted by the reputation of the original protagonist - how they might be similar in looks, nature and/or prowess, how they succeed in similar feats and the list goes on. I had generally neutral opinion about Kouga so far, but if the plot keeps pushing ghost of Seiya into Kouga's spotlight - well, I'm just not gonna be happy. Comparisons like this always eat new hero's personality more and more when they're pushed to be something they are not, and it never does any good to the memory of the older hero.

Sorry for writing mostly of my negative thoughts. I mean, I kinda dig Omega and I'm not gonna little things like these spoil it from me ; )

I think there is a good chance that Seiya is not the father and here is why. Kouga, according to the rumors, has
(click to show/hide)
. So my guess is that Kouga's father will end up being a big bad, especially if he isn't concerned with knowing who his mother is. Kouga will go through an arch in angst and end up fighting his father.

Why is Seiya showing up every once in a while if I don't think he's his father? Easy, he's pulling an Aiolos. Aiolos blinking I'm sure Seiya will at some point toss the Sagittarius Cloth down to Kouga as well.

Don't worry. You're not the only one who thinks of Seiya and Saori that way.

That Aiolos theory actually makes some sense, now that I think about it.

What does the element had to do with... heredity? I sincerely hope writers leave too agressive angst out of Saint Seiya, however this Kuoga's family question unfolds. I've said it before and say it once more, but no dorky filler moment shocked me as much as the Heaven Chapter... that amount of whining, angsting and Seiya's sudden 'give upper'-attitude? Even if Omega is spinoff, I just don't wanna see anything like that ever again =D

That Aiolos theory is... actually pretty damn good, it sounds plausible. I wouldn't like to see Kouga becoming Sagittarius, but borrowing the cloth for cheesy final boss batlle, like Seiya used to do, why not.

Remember, these are the same writers who say fire element people can't swim.

God, I don't recall ever cringing so much at a anime show as when I heard that line. I remember thinking that it was either a really lame taunt from the character or really lame writing from the writers. I suppose Haruto must be afraid of lightning storms and Kouga goes to sleep with a night light, too.

Truth be told, we don't know the factors at stake in elemental affinity in Omega. It could have to do with personality, genes or it could just be random. However, considering that the main theme in SS plots is fate repeating itself, either through reincarnation of certain characters or events mirroring each other, is it that hard to believe that a main character is mirroring some other older main character's powers? Take Shiryu and Ryuho as examples. I'm not saying that Ryuho is carrying some water-elemental gene from his father, but just that Saint Seiya likes to play with repetition of traits when it comes to characters mirroring their parents or some other main character.

Topaz is just saying  that there's symbolism behind who has which element. We got to work with the hints we have when it comes to guessing.

I understood as much, and I've had much fun with trying to guess which element supposedly would characters from original anime have had. Ryuho and Shiryu are one good exaple of how certain element can run in family, along with Aiolos and Aiolia - of course their elements hadn't been confirmed offically but I think it's safe to assume that they were lightning users. Good example of opposite case, where relatives do not share element, I think is Shun and Ikki. Again, their elements haven't been confirmed, but Ikki seem obviously fire user, where Shuns attacks seem wind element based, pehaps ('Nebula storm')? If Seiya indeed is light user (I'm not entirely convinced yet), he as Aiolos' 'spiritual successor', proves that to 'mirror' older character, one doesn't necessarily need to posses the same element.

They are hinting Seiya as the father too much, its too obvious. As topaz says, I think it will be a bad guy.

The duel between friends was pretty nice. Tho I hope they turn the brutality up when they are fighting actual enemies later...

She almost kissed Seiya when the crow silver saint kidnapped her. Other hints too but that was the biggest OOOOO that made me support that pairing. Also how she stayed with Seiya after Hades cursed him and he was just a vegetable.

and yea...unfortunately your head cannon doesn't negate actual manga cannon XD

You're absolutely right. I don't know about almost kissing, (They just jumped down the effin ledge. Seiya had fallen unconscious and was badly hurt - if kissing Seiya indeed would be rist reaction from Saori to that situation, let say I wouldn't even bother to start reasoning such a stupid choice to myself... If Saori loved Seiya, which I do not doubt, just count it as different type of love, she would have done something else, like try to ensure his wellbeing and safety) but yes, there has been some very shipteasing moments between Seiya and Saori, but at the same time Seiya has had similar moments with few other female characters, and Saori has shown deep concern for her other saints too. She stayed similarly by their side when Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga and Shun laid in coma after the battle of 12 palaces.

Don't get me wrong. I think it is perfectly ok to ship Seiya and Saori, in many levels I find the pairing good, even plausible but still I wouldn't like to see it become canon for real. Something in that doesn't just seem right.

The animation was hugely improved over the last episode.  Anyway, it just feels like, right now, they're just biding time until the bad guys show up and the show really takes off.  It's beginning to get a bit dull.

I wonder if Souma will ever use Lionet Bomber?
