If I get it right, Palaestra is for Saints to perfect their skills, so you need to be a Saint already just to be there. This means all students are Saints o_o
well gee where the hell were all these cloth's when they fought Hades 20 soemhting years ago. Someone needs to reset the ressurection timer ont he cloth's lol or could it be that these new cloth stones didn't just reinvent the old cloth's but also created new ones? Is it possible the limit is no longer 88 saints? Cause shit...there were like 9 female saints in the last episode lol

This new episode sheds some light on the new cloths. Ichi says that the old Cloths "came in contact with a cosmic power" which turned them in Clostones and originated the elements thing. Without the ability of controlling, or even knowing, their element, a Saint is basically powerless. Ichi is still a student because he still doesn't know what his element is. So now we know for certain that it's not just an aesthetic change, but that it was some external power that changed the Cloths and, according to Ichi, "entered Saints in a new era".
Now, my personal theory is that this is Mars' doing, to weaken Athena's army. In the 1st episode, it sounds like Seiya has met Mars before, and in the second episode we see that Martians also use elements, so either they also came in contact with this "cosmic power" or Mars has something to do with it. It's also possible that all 88 Cloths were reverted to Bronze, and that only the strongest Saints were then able to quickly discover their elements and evolve them into Silver or Gold. This would explain why Eagle is now Bronze, and it would make sense from an enemy's point of view, weakening Saints down to their most basic level.

I like this theory. It's sound and makes sense to me.

well kudos to the writers for making that make sense. So if every cloth has been reverted to basic bronze level then that must be why the goal is to become gold saints. I wonder if there is even a limit on how many gold cloth's there can be now. Are we to assume Seiya's gold cloth was reverted as well? Is that why it has a different appearence?

@Shiryu
Thanks, love Geki. He's great teacher! Kouga got a new attack: Pegasus Senkou Ken[Flash Punch]!!
Oh new attack for Pegasus Saint!?!?! Sweet! Kouga just officially rank better than LC Tenma in my book.

I really can't imagine "bronze" level Gold cloths; I'm still under the impression that Eagle being downgraded was simply for plot convenience. I'll have to see it to believe it...
I can't either, but then again, it's also possible that the Gold Cloths were rebuilt completely. Consider that, at the end of the Hades Saga, five Gold Cloths (Leo, Virgo, Sagittarius, Libra, Aquarius) were shattered by Thanatos--that might also explain the difference in appearance in Omega.

New technique that failed to defeat the opponent... Or god-killer...? Personally, I'm sticking with LC Tenma He's still #2. Btw, #1 is Seiya, #3 Kouga, #4 Ep.G's Aiolia (me thinks he whines too much), and #5 ND's Tenma (I like ND, but their Tenma has been pretty much useless)

Also i don't want to judge ND Tenma yet, at least he's smarter than Seiya.

I like that theory, it adds depth to the story. Now I'm eager to see how accurate it is to what will be explained in the story. Still, if they could weaken the saints to that level why not attacked right away, because the saints wouldn't stand a chance then.

At this early stage, both Tenma and Kouga are both on similar levels...
Never said the ranks are permanent, that's just how they stand right now IMO, but Kouga has some pretty big shoes to fill. Unfortunately, Omega's rating dropped to 1.5% this week.

Not surprising, without the original Bronzies doing something... Some might not watch until then... Hopefully it will pick up. From the previews, it seems that ep5 will have an info-dump like rest. As for levels, all of them including Seiya had big shoes to fill if they have to live up the original Peg Saint who hurt Hades in the beginning... Seiya managed to hurt Hades' true body all by himself. So he's at the same level as the original Pegasus.
