what i dont get is why they're fighting a roman God.
Shouldn't it be Ares?
*shrugs* They already fought the Norse Pantheon (sort of), so why not tackle Roman one next since they're not bound by the manga? Though a more serious answer would be what someone posted earlier on the thread: maybe they didn't want it to get the character confused with "Pope Ares". A third option is that maybe the production team doesn't know any better...

Yep, but I see one problem here: most of the Roman gods were practically adopted from Greek mythology, often with nothing but their name changed. Thus, it can get a bit confusing... x_x

Not really since the actual Ares as never appeared in Saint Seiya. Though they might just treat Mars as if he were Ares, just with a different name. The more that I think about Omega, the more it seems to be that it's just someone's fanfic that got taken way too seriously by the higher up at Toei. And I mean that in the best possible way.

Saori looks so much younger and Ryuho really looks as if he was Shiryu's son lol
And Eden looks as if he was Ikki's son too.

The Clothes have a tendency to look more like something made by super-mega-designer than actually armor. Sagittarius one killed me. And Pegasus hand gloves -_- But, since Omega seems to be dedicated to 10 year olds then I'm not expecting much.
I guess it's a play of the term "Cloth". I'm having a difficult time accepting them as armor. I'm expecting them to tear rather then shatter in the midst of battle. I'm rather disappointed with myself 'cause I initially thought that, for his work on Casshern Sins, Yoshihiko Umakoshi would actually be a good replacement for Shingo Araki. But I guess stylizing a Tatsunoko Pro hero is a lot different then updating Kurumada's revision of classic archetypes. I hear a lot of talk about this new series being more "kid-friendly". What was the original target audience of the Classic series?

But But like this they can cram out all 88 saints without any artistic effort at all. :/
I agree. You can tell Kuru had no creative input into these designs. It's not his style at all (which is a shame, the best thing about Kuru's art is his detailed designs)...Still, I'll try to give it a shot, even if it looks worse than the original anime (which still disappointed me in the adaptation of cloths, especially in detail, skipping certain designs, and making the very sparsely covering female silver cloths even less existent).

Well some fans consider G and LC fanfics, can't really judge until you see the thing... As long as the fights are not boring, I'll be cool... I wasn't criticizing Omega for it. Looks like it's going for young kids not even slightly older teens. I see this being put in the time frame as pokemon or bayblade.
Omega is going to replace Digimon on Sunday mornings.

1) So happy for a new Saint Seiya series 2) The biggest draw to Sain Seiya (since I was a kid) has always been cloth designs. But I do hate hate hate these new designs. 3) Seiya's Sagitarius gold cloth now looks more like Gundam suite than gold cloth (even though it looks kinda nice) 4) I'm dying to see these cloth in object form.
