First anime I remember was Technoman, which was based off Tekkaman Blade. Next one was Pokemon/Digimon, then the Vision of Escaflowne, and then one hell of a torrent involving Evas, Gundams, Children's Card Games, and then finally Saint Seiya and HnK.

Robotech, Transformers, Saint Seiya were my first at the age of 7. I also remember myself trying to burn my cosmos ^^, tho all i got was tons of bruises (hope its spelled right) and numerous headaches trying to *mentally* achieve cosmos . Unforgetable old times.

Dragon Ball was the first anime I was aware of (game magazines), but it was the 3rd one I actually watched. The first one I watched was Ronin Warriors, which seemed completely awesome in comparison to the relatively lackluster competition it faced at the time. However I was never obsessed with anything until I first saw Dragon Ball.
About a year ago I did track down the Ronin Warriors/Legendary Armour Samurai Troopers DVD releases on Amazon Marketplace, the show really hasn't aged well but I still like taking the trip down memory lane from time to time.

If I remember correctly, my first anime was Dragonball Z back when it aired on the Toonami that played in the afternoon and was hosted by a fat little robot named Tom or something.

My first anime was Robotech (the Macross Saga)... it was the "Miss Macross" episode. Oh those awful songs that inevitably got stuck in my head when I was 10...

You know, for all the things Robotech completely butchered about Macross, it did make the one female pop idol's music indeed terrorfying, which was something it wasn't in the Japanese version.

Mari Iijima = talent, Reba West = omg my ears! Robotech songs were sickeningly catchy, but there's no vocal talent there. But Minmay's songs aside, I liked the BGM of Robotech better than the BGM of Macross. Macross's OST is so... I don't know, it didn't seem fitting for battles in outer space. I actually didn't like Macross as much as the Robotech Macross season. Hmm, guess I'm not much for being a purist. Admittedly, the rest of Robotech is significantly worse than the Japanese counterparts though. I love the songs in Macross 7! But I hate Planet Dance... which the show insists on playing repeatedly. I don't even remember the plot, just Basara screaming "Listen to my song!" at every alien creature and/or lifeform he encounters. But I still liked it.
