Just calling it Bucky-Balls instead of Buckminsterfullerene is much better too ;D

There is also one other very simple language to learn which is BruceLeeish!
Example: WWWOOOOOOOOOOHHH!! If you can control this sound, you are suitable to master the language ;D ;D

@VF: we did those last week.  Ah, the carbon compound of the long name and the nonexistent function.

I personally like Jackie Chan a little more--he has the greatest, most adorable accent.  ^^

I like watching foreign movies with foreign dialects and languages. Just finish watching Black Book about the Nazi in Holland. But I can't catch the language whether it';s Dutch or German (since the beginning of the movie opens with scene in Holland). They sound a like to my ears. I think I still have another movie which I havent watched (Im sure Shaina knows it ^_^) Operation Valkyrie. I think it's in German (???) since the actor is Sebastian Koch (Wiki said he';s german) - he's a dreamy handsome man when he combs his hair :p I havent watched it yet but I did fast forward it for several minutes. GErman doenst sound like 'angry' language to me :D although I cant distinguish it from Dutch,

Angry language? I must say Japanese! Esp in samurai movies :D

I think most languages sound angry when spoken by an...angry...person....  dunno, maybe I've got a weird sense of the world.

Personally, German sounds like sausage for me.  I don't mean that as a stereotype.  That's just what it sounds like.  My take on languages goes something like this:

German - sausage
French - chocolate, or a brook
British English - a ship (the old-fashioned kind with sails and decks and things)
Greek - food
Irish Gaelic - wind in grass
Spanish - a party
Cantonese - the bronze bell-chimes from ancient China
Quenya - a forest (never mind that Quenya is a fictional language)

I haven't thought of parallels for the others yet.

@AuroraExecution

Now there are interesting associtions I swear I would *never* have been able to come up with!

Hm. I have to admit, I couldn't put any such or even different associations to languages.

I heard from some people that German sounds like cursing for them XD...For me it sounds really nice, especially all these words with "ch" like "madchen" :).
I didn't think about people reaction when they hear Polish before. Some words could be a little bit schoking, like "konstantynopolitańczykowianeczka" (little girl from Constantinopole) ; )

@Endy: It's simple, darl.  Those are just what I think the languages sound like.  German sounds like sausages.  If you still don't get it, then don't worry about it.

@Van

And as I hate sausages, I rarely eat anything pertaining to classical German cuisine at all. Go Pasta! Go Japanese/Chinese/Thai/Indian food!

Endy, just don't worry about it.  It's just what I think the languages sound like-MY interpretations.  They don't have to work for you, and if you can't see the connections, then just stop thinking about it.

^.^;; Shaina, I was going to ask you if you could translate some of the things E-Nomine sings since he's german, but he also speaks Latin in the songs.  I know it's verses from the bible.  Vater Unser I have it in english, but not the other ones.
