Well I think the inspiration was from the Gundam illustrations in 'Sexy Robot'. Gundam is just another interpretation of the armors in Samurai Culture... Wink

Uh, sorry but on the net can be found only some picture of Soryama’s album, and I can’t understand what illustration you mean. I can’t find everything with on oriental style, if it’s what you meant Huh?

Do you want to know? I think your intuiton was right. Because I’ve recently found an interview to mr Kurumada.
It’s from 1981, so it doesn’t have anything to do with SS. XD
But he’s asked for his favourite anime show and he says :

Actually if I didn't remember wrong, in one of the Seiya Speicals Interviews, he said he like Gundam. Wink
