Next Dimension anime confirmed by Toei in Brazil
« on: February 19, 2011, 02:04:52 PM »
I know there were rumors of a Next Dimension anime but now it's confirmed by Toei themselves according to ANMTV.

The conference of Toei in Brazil confirms that Toei is planning to animate the series again in addition to the CGI movie and that anime series will be Next Dimension that might come out in 2011 or 2012.

My concern as well as fans is that Next Dimension is published on a random basis and goes very slowly. I think an OVA series would be more likely to produce. (Oh! And please no Hades Inferno and Elysion butchery. Thanks.)

If it's for real I hope they focus on the present era stuff. I don't mind if they go beyond the manga. Just please don't hold back and do it right....

Already? Hm... i think it's a bit early for it.

But wait, Toei is doing it? D:
Awwws, i wanted TMS to do it.

Thank you very much Penthesilea, I didn't know that link!  :blushy:
As for what I can read Toei's expressed the intention to make a series on ND, but there's the movie before.
So we have to hope that movie won't be a flop, as Overture, or. :>_<:..

^ Welcome.

I didn't noticed the article was published in October 2010 when Toei visited Brazil for a press conference. I thought at first the article was recently published (I found the link in a SS Facebook group) but yeah the article confirms Next Dimension anime in the making.

The Brazilian website also confirms this --> http://www.cavzodiaco.com.br/noticia/5165

@Tetsu
I agree. TMS should do the anime instead.  :D

A quick summary :

Started out as an Official Prequel to the Saint Seiya Classic Series, telling what happened in the Previous (18th Century) Holy War when Aries Shion and Libra Dohko fight against the forces of Hades together with other Saints which included Pegasus Tenma, but turned into the Sequel to the Classic Series when Athena, Shun and Ikki went back to the 18th Century to find a way to save Pegasus Seiya, while Hyoga, Shaina and Marin protect the comatose Seiya from being attack by Touma, Angel of the Mount Olympus.

wait wait so....they go back in time?

That's pretty awesome o.o

Maybe i should read it, but i think i'll be a lazy bum and just wait for it to be turned into an anime unless it's really worth it.

I'd recommend catching up to what's out. It's not too much to catch up on, and is rather enjoyable, especially once we get past and present stuff happening at the same time.

There is ONLY 35 Chapters which equal about 3 plus Volumes so that's not much of a read compared to catching on the Classic Series (28 Volumes) and The Lost Canvas (25 Volumes).

And if you wait till ND becomes an Anime, at the rate the Chapters are being released, you're probably married with kids who're going to School already. @_@

It's rather interesting to see how he goes from out of practice when drawing the Saints at the beginning to rather nice levels of detail.

I still love this poster for Ikki.

But yeah, if it does get an anime adaption, I imagine we'll get more consistent, yet detail lacking animation. I just fear Toei won't put the money into it to get animators to match that kind of detail Kurumada likes.
