It's Horse if I remember correctly for Saint Seiya, if not Pegasus or Heavenly Horse?

Youma on the other hand is Demon if my memory right in some games or Manga/Anime Title, while Sylphid is "invisible beings of the air".

Hmmm.....is it based on this page you gotten the meaning?

Depends of the writing, and Kurumada apparently loves using kanji in his naming conventions. In kanji, many characters share similar pronunciations with each other.

The Babynames site is probably referencing 天魔 (lit. "Heavenly Demon"), which you can find in Shaka's technique, "Tenma Koufuku" (天魔降伏). And now I'm wondering what crazy bazooka parents would name their child that. I mean, it's kinda badass but seriously.

And as for Tenma, his is written, appropriately, as 天馬 (lit. "Heavenly Horse").

Tenma:天魔 is a Buddhist term meaning the demon or demons directly opposed to the Buddha. 降伏:Koufuku means surrender or to make someone surrender. In the context of the move it also means to surpress the enemy.

As for the play on the kanjis, you find that in lot of Asian culture but in western culture, symbolism is used everywhere also. You just need to find the right context... Wink

Tenma:天馬 and Ox and all that are Masami being a little too literal in the naming... Smiley
