I don't mean to sound antagonistic here, but isn't a good chunk of the series devoted to kicking the god's divine butts?  No way am I saying that Shaka is weak, his Ten Bu Ho Ren is one of the most kick @$$ attacks I can name, but I'm not convinced that he's the strongest.

I'm saying that at the very least, they're going to give each other a run for their money.  Under most circumstances actually.  Shaka did hold off three Goldies during Hades so anything's possible.

I agree wit Marynchan. plus Shaka was doin dat thing I forgot wat it was called but it took away like ur senses so thats like a str8 kill. not trying to say Shion sucks cuz hes one of my favorites but I think Shaka would whoop him

You have a point Marynchan.  Needless to say, I still think that Shion would give Shaka a run for his money.

I think that Shaka is more powerful than Shion (and Saga), but he is, let's just say, obedient.

In all his appearances in the main mange/anime, Shaka has shown to be extremely powerful, but never has he taken up a 'leadership' role amongst his Goldie peers.

i) In the Poseidon saga he stood in the background chit-chatting with the other Goldies. Mu was the leader figure here.
ii) When Shaka was summoned into the Pope's chamber to battle Aiolia just before the 12 Temples arc, he basically just did what the Pope told him to do.
iii) Just before the destruction of the sighing wall, Shaka immediately faded into the background when Dohko appeared.

I think this is in line with Shaka's rather nonchalant attitude. Not that he can't be the leader, but probably cuz he doesn't want to be one.

Um... bottom line is, Shion, Dohko and Saga might have been able to 'keep Shaka in line with the other Goldies', somewhat referring to KnightSkye's comment, but that's because they were more 'leader' figures than him.

now that you say it he doesn't seem to be the one to take charge at all. he might just be one of those people who doesn't mind not being the leader and just following orders like aldoteng pointed out very well. (sees it that way.)

You all have valid points.  I also don't think Shaka is much of a leader type.

We'll have to agree to disagree though.

Shaka is non-confrontational and probably shy. IF there's someone around with a louder voice, or more charisma, he immediately shuts up and lets them take charge of things.


That being said, I'm sure if he were in a DnD party, he'd be the Bazooka - used to solve problems in the bloodiest and most expedient manner possible before being discarded without ceremony. I'm sure that if he were to fight with Shion or Saga mano a mano, a 1000 days war would result.
