Kurumada to make new poster for Clash of the Titans Remake
« on: April 05, 2010, 08:49:11 PM »
Basically, the director Louis Leterrier is a huge fan of Saint Seiya and pays homage to Saint Seiya with the armors the god wear in the movie. In Turn, Warner Bros. Japan has stated that they contacted Masami Kurumada to make a new poster for the Japanese release later this month.

Sigh.  Saw the movie, quite the disappointment really.

I think making a poster for this movie would only soil Kuramada's name.

I saw the movie.

I thought it was awesome.
and i think it's pretty cool that kurumada will do something like this.

In my opinion this is sorta hinting towards an SS movie

@geminikanon

The movie's budget was 70 million. Some say with the video game production it was 100. So considering that Spiderman 3 needed at least 300 mil, Clash is a pretty decent work. I was surprised by the quality actually but is it Avatar? Hell no!!

But I do see if Louis would make S Seiya and update the thing. It would be a success and when he does make a Seiya movie with a budget of say Lord of the Rings, I think no fan out there would complain... that much anyway... ;)

The thing that would cost most would be the armors for a LA Saint Seiya movie. or maybe not, they could be easy to produce.

I just came out of Clash of the Titans, Not a bad movie, but something I'd pay a Matinee price to watch. Personally, I liked more the original movie. Still would get a Kurumada-Senpai printed Poster for the sake that it's his.

Philip, i do not want to see a saint seiya movie being touched by ANY, and i do mean ANY, americans. if you dont believe me, look at dragon ball, king of fighters, resident evil, and more recently, tekken. for some reason, they will just fuck up everthin they touched. seiya will be played by ***surprised*** a pussy looking, pretty white boy! and the only asian in that movie will be shiryu, becasue no white guy can break that chinese stereotype!

sorry i am just pissed at how americans handle great series... and i am american

You know, if Peter Jackson made a Saint Seiya movie, I'd totally watch it. XD He was awesome with LOTR (the armors and special effects were fantastic), it'd be interesting to see how he'd handle StS.

Although, I guess Ridley Scott could pull it off, too. Or Spielberg. He can do anything.

True, agreed in all counts.  However, I'm simply expressing that I'm "disappointed" with the movie, nothing more, nothing less.  Could they do better with the budget they have?  Maybe, but that's not what I'm saying.  As a fan of Saint Seiya, I'm also an avid fan of Greek mythology.  The only thing out there (in my opinion) that captured the epicness and essense of Greek mythology is God of War, especially the third one.  If this movie attempted even a tenth of the epicness of God of War, I think it would be mind-blowing.  It's hard to appreciate this movie when you have been showned better.  Heck, I even think the original Clash of the Titan was better made.  So take all that into account, it is disappointing.

Well I remember the original. It was very campy and it wouldn't work in 2010. As for God of War, I totally agree. But I think someone said on another forum, you can't let other works to influence the production, otherwise you get a Dragon Ball Evolution. From what I heard they had a decent script and then an ass who used to work on the X-Files rewrote everything.... :(

xD i think Perseus has more hair than Aiolos and Aiolia ;)

I'd say Medusa is quit sexier than the old movie xD
