As the RAWs Trevor kindly provides after a while seem to get deleted by Photobucket, I decided to add this topic where you can directly go to the available English scanlations of the chapters which were in the beginning created by Nankh, but which are nowadays created by Mako-Scans. NankH scanlations (Chapter 1-17): http://saintseiyafan.com/Forum/index.php?topic=412.0Website of Mako-Scans where you can download the scanlations as chapter packages: http://makoscans.wordpress.com/And here you can directly read the chapters online: http://www.onemanga.com/Saint_Seiya_-_The_Lost_Canvas

I nowdays do my downloading/reading from MangaFox http://www.mangafox.com/manga/saint_seiya_the_lost_canvas/Ya, same thing as OneManga and lately MangaFox seems to be slightly faster in upload the new scanlations than OneManga ( and the image is slightly bigger than those on OneManga ). Another source that allows you the option of downloading each scanlation chapter at one go is MangaHelpers BUT be warned that the images are in .Png format. http://mangahelpers.com/m/saint-seiya-tlc/chapters/And they have a "rough" English scanlation of Chapter 121-123

Yup, a real shame. The new group made some annoying errors in its debut chapter. Let's hope they can improve the overall quality and that they don't fall behind .

Well, it's understandable. If someone else is doing the job and is doing it faster, then there is no need to work on it anymore. There is no need to hold a competition.
I have discovered a group who is doing Saint Seiya Episode G too and I am wondering if I should stop translating too or not. Their English is much better and they make a better job in cleaning them. Actually, I wanted to rework all of the scans once again, using the Japanese scans. However, I am not sure anymore...
However, I agree with you. I am going to miss Mako-Scans too, but I am not going to reject the new group. Who knows? Perhaps they will improve their work more and more during the time, making the scans and translation as enjoyable like the old one.

The group is called "SSA Scanlations" I believe. Here is the link to their website: http://ssafan-sub.blogspot.com/

Ok, let's have my point of view as a member (maybe former?) of Makoscans.
First, I think the decision was taken a bit too fast. Ok, the aim of Makoscanslation is providing scanlation of manga not translated by others. And halting a project that have been taken by another team is normal. But it's only after around ten releases that we can say a team is taking the project or not. Not with just two releases. The chief should have wait a bit. But again, it's actually complying with the rules of the team.
Second, I'm furious. They didn't really ask my opinion, saying in a mail they waited for it and saying it's over in another one. It's not like I was a major member of the team, more like a mere employee, but I was really proud to work for a team translating one of my favourite manga.
The Lost Canvas was the only project I was doing, and actually I worked hard to the 165th and 166th to make it on time, obviously for nothing. Especially after pressuring the poor Haldir who did her best in the 165th for peanuts this week-end. I can tell you, having these mails before breakfast, when I hardly wake up, after spending all evening in 166th cleaning, gives the urge to take my laptop and throw it through the window.
Ok, I would have take it far more lightly if Jockstrap didn't post the SSA's releases instead of ours in the blog. It's ungrateful.
On the other hand, maybe I should not say it, but since some people are complaining both here and in Mako's blog, Narwe and me (and maybe others) might pursue the scanlation of Lost Canvas in a separated team. Or convincing Makoscans to pursue, which is the best solution. But it's just a possibility, I'll keep you in touch about it ^^

First I must thank everyone for your support, it's really great to see so many people backing us. It is true that announcing to stop the SSTLC scanlation less than 24 hours after chapter 165 was released may have been a bit hasty. But in the long run it doesn't change much. I've just contacted SSA on their forum and asked them if they intend to pick up SSTLC (am still waiting for the answer). After that it remains to be seen how their scanlations are going to be. I think that Kaia put it quite nicely. This means that there IS a possibility, despite the announcement on our homepage, for Mako-Scans to continue releasing SSTLC (maybe not right away, call it "evaluating situation"). In case this doesn't happen and most still feel that Mako scanlations were better it may just happen that Okuni and me will start scanlating on our own, yes. Though I must stress that this is NOT official, this is NOT certain and that it is JUST a possibility, an idea. @Haldir Don't feel bad! All this time you've been doing a great job, you were a great help and even if you managed to finish the editing sooner, the present situation would still be the same. *hugs* @Okuni I understand that you fell very frustrated right now, yesterday I felt the same, I was fuming at the world in general. Then I took a pause from everything, went to sleep and now everything seems more in perspective. Such things happen, we are put in a position we don't like but now we must find the way in which TLC will be released as quickly and in as high a quality as possible.
