For instance Bleach. I think that series is highly overrated and nothing but trash.I should have known since the same person wrote Soul Eater.
Huh?  Tite Kubo makes Bleach, and Atsushi Ohkubo made Soul Eater.  They're by two completely-different folks.  Unless you meant B. Ichi and whatever you were using to type autocorrected.

Just as examples, Kaori Yuki's "Ludwig Kakumei" is a good sh˘jo comedy I made my brother read, and her "Grand Guignol Orchestra" is a story I like a lot despite it being a sh˘jo. And both lack the fluffy romance part. I'm not a great fan of her "Angel Sanctuary", but it's still her hit manga, so...

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about Angel Sanctuary?  That's normally one I hear Kaori Yuki fans gush over.

It's alright Seiya, I guess we were just kind of expressing opinions that are by no means contradictory and I got a little confused over it all ^^'. Of course, it's very hard to tell which series one would like, since it depends on much too many things. (I sometimes get annoyed at some shounen-ai-like situations in Kuroshitsuji, but it doesn't really disturb me (though sometimes, it *is* disturbing), but the fanservice in the anime Kuroshitsuji II was plain vulgar in my opinion. Still, there are a lot of people who like it regardless.)
I wonder what Saint Seiya with fanservice would look like ... ._. (some people would say that Soul of Gold is already something made for fanservice)

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about Angel Sanctuary?  That's normally one I hear Kaori Yuki fans gush over.

Too long to get me hooked up, I guess xD. Well, twisted plots and relationships are the author's speciality and I've been quite warned of it (Ludwig Kakumei is about killing the childhood of everyone who have ever read a fairytale disguised as a parody (and the first chapters are kind of... well... More disturbing than funny actually), so I guess it comes from the fact that it starts too slowly to get me interested (with the fact that there are more than 20 volumes left, so you can't even keep reading while saying "I'll like the next better" because it will take forever). I guess. The longest stories I like from her are no more than, like, 4-5 volumes long, so... yeah. But maybe I will try and go somewhere far for once, someday. Maybe.
... By the way, I think this is going a little off-topic xD.

I might believe you if this were the mid-2000s or earlier, but I honestly don't know about nowadays.  Please do mention some recent, good shoujo.  Granted, the same can be said of shounen nowadays, too.  I don't think we'll ever see a return to the craziness we saw in the '70s...

Well, i have recommendation too for shojo manga before 2000, Alexandrite by Minako Narita (basically just read all Minako Narita shoujo manga), Naisho no Kaunto 5 and Debut Kara Hajimatta by Yukari Kawachi, Time Limit! Nina by Ringo/Rinko Hijiri, Hime 100% and Alpen Rose by Akaishi Michiyo, Shoujo Kakumei Utena by Chiho Saito, Nanairo Magic, Minmin! and Kon na Panic by Yuu Asagiri, Kaze Hikaru by Watanabe Taeko (still ongoing till now), BeruBara (Rose of Versailles) and Eroica by Riyoko Ikeda, Garasu no Kamen by Suzue Miuchi
If you want action i recommended Pygmalio (Dragon Pigmario in my local licensed version) by Shinji Wada (which is i'm suprised this is serialized in Hana To Yume, that means this is a shoujo manga, my entire life is a lie....)
For 2000-era, Lovely Complex by Aya Nakahara, Nodame Cantabille and Tensai Family Company by Ninomiya Tomoko, Otomen, Akusaga, Kootetsu no Hana and Hokusou no Shinsengumi by Aya Kanno, Tetsugaku Letra by Yumeka Sumomo, Mr. Ermine by Ayumi Uno, Ghost Hunt by Shiho Inada and Fuyumi Ono, Skip Beat! by Nakamura Yoshiki, Yamada Taro monogatari by Morinaga Ai, Chihayafuru by Suetsugu Yuki, Shirokuma Cafe by Aloha Higa

And more, at least this one i'm most remember LOL, i read a lot of shoujo manga during my junior and high school, that time Yukari Kawachi, and Yuu Asagiri are pretty popular coz variety in drama genre, and the one Mari-chan series from Kimiko Uehara about ballet stuff if you are into that.
Well in my opinion, drama/romance shoujo manga is better in 1900s than today romance shoujo manga.

All shoujo manga that i mentioned before is variated between slice of life, romance, animal story, historical figure, fantasy, sport, adventure, ghost story.

It's shounen; I'm just pretty sure they publish a lot of the neo-shounen stuff, which is probably best described as unisex.

Yea...not to mention that Matantei Loki and Spiral are in that magazine too, shonen but unisex audience.

As for Sailor Moon, thank you for the explaination. I believe not all male fans are like perverted fans of MLP. I just really want to know what appeals for male fans ^_^ especially when in some media there a lot of sailor moon male fans representation is a perverted fans (i mean pervert male fans who bought sailor moon statue only for peeking the panties, this one became like internal joke in manga or anime, so i'm kinda worried.....)
Bronies already have a bad name tho, i heard they invade cons targeted at children to ask inappropriate questions about the characters raping each other to the voice actors....
So its hard to clearing MLP male fans reputation.....

as for MLP, i used to watch the old one (1990s) on TV along with care bears, and zelda. I think its fun animation, the story is light and the character interesting (and beautiful), i heard new MLP having more complicated story.

Is there yaoi for gay men?  I know there's bara, but that's pretty much all porn.  I've always heard that gay men don't usually care for yaoi because the relationships tend to resemble male/female romantic ones too much.

Yes, try to read Man of Tango (Tango no Otoko), the author is also male. The story is difficult and complicated than regular drama (my friend said this is movie level drama ^^;), its feel more real, the relationship development is very good. I'm very picky about reading manga, especially BL manga (i don't really into long serialized BL manga) since.... almost BL manga is very stereotype, too romantizing, unbelieveable relationship development, bad writing about male characters.... that bad that i almost think this is bad shoujo manga the different is you change the heroine into male.
But not this one, this is one of the best BL manga i ever read.

No problem.  As for the whole "Imma buy this Sailor Jupter figure so I can stare at her panties" thing, it's more than SM fans that do that, lemme tell ya.  There's a reason why a lot of figs are nowadays made with soft breasts, unfortunately.  You know, I have to wonder what Bronies will do once the show ends.  What fandom will they desicrate next?

I'll give it a look.  The only yaoi manga I've ever really read was Kaze to Ki no Uta, and that was some good stuff.

And removeable clothes or bikini hahaha, i know what they did with figure, but well i think boys figure that targeted to female buyer also have a little removeable thing but not as pervert as girl figure for boys....
They will search another innocent show with cute female character, whatever the shape or form....

There some oldies lol, i watched the anime XD

Well i did read several BL manga, but manga i considered it good only 3 ^^; Also Sakende Yaruze is good thing too, old manga but the story is superb
