Unfortunally as we know, Americans are known to destroy anything good an anime story has, we've seen that in Dragonball the live movie, where they changed completely the story to fit in their society, and they also did it with saint seiya with the anime, I honestly hope they do not make this movie, since I wouldn't like to see one of the best animes ever being transformed into crap pop culture material.

Seiya will be renamed Sam, Shun will be a girl, and Saori will be a princess, not a businesswoman.

Oh, and there will be no Silver Saints at ALL.

And they won't even be called Saints.

And all the Bronze Cloths will be a metallic brown colour.

but yeah things like this have been happening with other series.
If I remember correctly Metroid was supposed to have been turned into a movie on 2006. It's 2008, and the IMdB page disappeared.

so until we get pics of a cast and stuff I won't believe it.
Plus, why would an american director want to make a saint seiya movie? IMHO It's not going to sell. Doesn't mean I won't go see it if it happens.

I'll go see it but the thing I wonder about will they do an independent story or a filler?

Will they do a Highlander. You know you start off with two fighters fighting and later they explain what all this fighting is about...

How about a stargate? Some archeologist find an ancient artifact that unseals an evil god. Saints around the world goes and invetigate these artifacts around the world:

They find more clues and fight the gods' fighters and then they join together to fight the God....

I saw that link posted on a  music forum and my heart kinda sunk.
I'm at the moment leaning toward that they are going to totally screw this up.
Then again I thought the same when I heard of the Transformers movie.
If the director and those in charge of production know about Seiya and have respect for it, then it might be good.
God only knows that now we have the technology to really make it look as good as the anime.
Let's see what happens.
