and here I thought the cancer saint was about to kick the bucket. well, it probably will hapen, but in a way that he sacrifices himself for the greater good of the Saints. this could also be an attempt to seal Thanatos into the box that Pandora opens many years later (since neither Thanatos nor Hypnos were killed until they faced Seiya and the others in their Divine cloths).

but this is just a theory and I could be wrong. still...

great chapter overall. who needs Terrible Providence when u can use chess pieces to stop a gold saint.

 In the original story Hypnos and Thanatos were sealed in a box by one of athena's seal used by Sage.  So we know that Sage is going to win, just need to know how and when.

This chapter made me fully understand why waiting the next great chapter is such a torment ... 

Too bad I don't understand Japanese. So tortured I am  ... ... But at least from the pictures, something is displayed ... The appearance of the Pope at the end of the page really makes me rethink that the coming of manigoldo (disturbing "The God Chess Championship") is something "wisely-planned" (like Hyoga's thought), not just a typical Manigoldo's overconfidence to show-off and settle things once and for all spontaneously ... I hope my previous guess on LC-63 about Manigoldo is totally WRONGGG ...

With the Pope there and his powerful seals I think MG would be there for another chapter unless something dramatic happens.  Maybe he will die protecting his old master! 
The Pope saying "Finally we meet, Thanatos" or "At last we meet, Thanatos" is so cool!  Hypnos should also join the battle though.

and Manigoldo seems to be on a roll. I like that he's very active and doesn't talk too much (or too less) but I doubt Hypnos will join the fray since even in vol.27/28 he waited until Thany got defeated.

Oh, moving chess pieces  have been there long before Harry Potter. I think of Star Wars: A New Hope, too - when Artoo and Chewbacca play a 3D chess like game, there was the sound advice by Threepio: "Let the Wookie win" XD (after Han explained that Chewbacca likes to rip off the arm of a person who'd defeat him in that game)

And Star Wars wasn't the first instance either...
