Personally, I've only read one of Anne Rice's books "Pandora" but, I have to say for not liking vampires I did rather enjoy that book. Her writing style really captivated me, and it brought Vampires  to a more realistic level for me. I hate it when creatures that are not human are betrayed as killers. Those kind of stories just get distasteful to me. I guess it's because I hate horror stories and slashers.

Thanks Fox. ^.^
I enjoy seeing stories portray the common evils in a different light instead of the constant cliche evil.  Makes it more personable.  You can relate to them. ^.^

LOL Endy haha, epic

I love vampires, not because they are merciless killers which they can be, but for me a vampire to has to have that sensual side that is used for luring his victims.
Also the vampires has to have some kind of emotions beneath his cold stone heart, but the vampires I find the most appealing are the ones portrayed by the white wolf game makers, which originally started some of their games as pen and paper, some still do i think.

But as far as Anne Rice goes, I love her vampires, but I have only "watched" Interview and Lestat. I haven't risked reading her books because people tend to say her books are just too lengthy and a bit boring to read, and im like Shaina in that sense, If the book doesn't compel me or drive me to read more, I usually put it down after a while.

But I think Anne Rice's vampires are typical vampires? I mean her vampires r just like other western vampires right? I actually hvnt watched any vampire movies made from her novels or read the novels. The only vampire I read and watch is Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Well, its one of those things that because its a myth, there are numerous adaptations. But Anne Rice's vampire are deffinataly one of the types I like, personally i would add more darkness and violance to them, and spice up the sexual factor :D

I think that Anne Rice's vampires are more believable.  They don't burn from silver or garlic.  The sad part of the reality is that they are technically dead... so their sex organs are out of commission... taking out the sexual factor sadly. v.v  I always thought of vampires as sensual, and well... sexual.
Violence maybe.  Not one for violence, but they do have some inhuman powers.  It'll bring up the beat.  Although I can not see Louise or Marius battling. XD

I remember the book now, Blackwood Farm - I think.  It was alright in the beginning but after awhile, my interest waned and dragged the days which I finish the book.  The sequel, Blood Canticle, failed to capture my interest and I stop reading it.

Blood Canticle is a waste of time But I loved Blackwood Farm because I am also a fan of the Mayfair Witches Series. But the best books to me are still, Queen of the Damned, The Witching Hour, Vampire Lestat and Lasher. I like Pandora and Merrick though.

Cheers for blood drinking! :)
