This episode was alright, although so far, the "bad" Saints have some of the stupidest motivations against the main bronzies.

In episode two, Spear made fun of Yuna, because she wore a mask when it should be kind of the opposite for being the only girl to not wear a mask. Then it would make sense for him to make fun of her. It's like going around and making fun of girls for having a school uniform that makes you wear a skirt.

This episode, Argo, and apparently others was making fun of Souma because his Dad died. In that way, every Saint who was in the original series that died is a "Loser Saint".

At least Eden seems like he'll be featured in the next episode.

My guess as to why Haruto hasn't appeared yet is because they said that originally the wolf Saint was going to be the main, but switched it to Pegasus, which made it a little tougher to write Haruto into the plot until later.

Questions from the main series should be answered by Kurumada and Teshirogi may not be authorized to create her own answers, IMO...

Sorry, when I meant by main series, I meant the Lost Canvas main series and not Kurumada's Saint Seiya series. A good example would be the relationship of Unity/Seraphina and Degel as well as Degel/Kardia. People, when they first heard about the gaidens wanted to know more about those relationships that weren't explained in the Lost Canvas series. What we got was Kardia bopping around with Sasha (written in a way where any Gold could be inserted in) and Degel/his Master Crest exploring the themes of Eternal Youth, barely any Seraphina (who could be replaced with any fan made heroine from Deviant Art) and no mention of Unity. The closest we got with Degel/Kardia's friendship was a bonus story in the volume.

And you also misquoted while at it.

I'm really glad its slowly stopping.
Those gaidens were only ruining the series more and more.

I think the word ruining is a bit harsh. They didn't hurt the series, but they weren't answering the questions we all had from the main series and are pretty much Gold Saint finds child, bonds with them, goes on a wacky adventure against a mythological being the end.

-I liked that they showed Souma acting Brazilian from him drinking coffee to his main attack's name.
-The flashbacks to the old Bronzies and old characters returning
-The theme song
-The pacing of the episodes
-All characters are likable so far (can't say anything about Haruto and Eden since they haven't appeared yet)

After watching this episode again, I had to try and photoshop this.

Ryuho was so cute. I like him too. I like the balance of him not lasting very long in battle with his awesome cos... er element. Plus the scene where he talks about defending his father's honor as well as saving him was well written and voiced. I have no idea how he's going to get through the next episode though with how weak he is physically.

I felt so sad for Ichi. Poor guy. Watching him being forced to walk around as an adult with kids all around seems very humiliating. I wanted to give him a hug when he cried about not being able to use an element.

What the heck is up with George/Georges? While Geki clearly look and dressed the roll of someone who teaches, this guy had a suit and tie. I thought he was just a civilian but he shows he can use Elements too.

I do not like the element system at all. It's strength/weakness system is flawed even in its most basic levels.

It makes sense that Fire beats wind, because fire needs air to become stronger.

But Wind does not beat Lightning/Electricity. Wind is the movement of air, and like everything that has movement has friction. Friction creates static and thus an electrical charge. Wind powers up electricity. It is why storms create more/bigger lightning bolts.

Then there is the Light Element. Based on the episode 4 fight, all it looks like is a regular cosmos attack. The bright light is just someone burning their cosmos brightly and then he punches Ryuho. If he was moving at light speed for his Light element, then again, it is no different than having cosmos. So far, it feels almost pointless.

But I'm also going to bring up another thing that has been bugging me that hasn't been mentioned yet is that while the new Bronze Saints look younger, most of the returning cast look like they haven't aged at all.

But Seiya, Shaina, Geki and Ichi. They really haven't changed at all to show twenty five years have passed except for clothes that they are forced to wear.

Shunrei, still looks the same as the original. She still wears the same outfit, her hair is braided up the same despite having a child. Even in the flashbacks,Shunrei wore a different outfit. Twenty five years have passed, is it so much to ask her to wear something different or style her hair differently and make her look a little motherly?

When I saw Tatsumi with a mustache and Saori wearing a different outfit, it really left an impact that time has passed and we are in a new era. But if you look at Shunrei as a still, you can't tell if it is her from Hades Sanctuary or from this show.

Dude, you're not here to debate. You want proof of this?

While leaving the Golds at Sanctuary is primarily an excuse for the Bronze Saints to take on Poseidon, it's still a good military move.

No, it's BS.
You're trying to headcanon/invent some justification for soemthign that doesn't even deserve it.

Right there. I tell you I will make my argument and you call that BS. You are angry, that I declared that I will give my reason to disagree with you.

Right there is proof that it doesn't matter what anyone says to you because to you, you are right.

Don't they have someone from the old cast to be elemental class teacher? June? Jabu? Nachi? Ban? Marin? I think Ichi's element should be darkness or earth since his attack involves poison.

Also, I'm surprised how Shaina never teach Kouga about element. and where the hell are Steel Saints? Plus, who is the old guy who left cliffhanger in the last episode? Last, We've a new Dragon saint. How come we don't have a new Cygnus saint? Yakov is a perfect candidate.

You know, I just realized something. Why isn't there an Ice element? I know water could be considered it, but really, it was the only element that was from the original that actually had its own place that focused on it. Plus, like on Pokemon there are enough defining traits to give its own slot.

Well we have element system now and apparently light and dark overpower all other elements. If you have light, apparently you're great because it intrigued Mars at the end of the second episode.

And that is irrelevent.
Hades wants to kill Athena. Athena wasn't at the Sanctuary.

You have a threat that WILL destroy the world NOW, and insted of mobilising all resources to stop it, you are holding back because of a potential other threat ( destruction of Sanctuary is insignificant compared to flooding of the world), that will becompletely irevelent if the first threat isn't stopped. There won't BE a future to worry about.

You talk of war like you even understand basic tactics or cosr/reward analysis.
If Athena was at Sanctuary that wold be a proper reason for the Gold Saints to stay.
While leaving the Golds at Sanctuary is primarily an excuse for the Bronze Saints to take on Poseidon, it's still a good military move.

Let's talk military tactics.

It was revealed that there were two other forces (Poseidon and Hades) at the end of the Sanctuary arc. We know that Poseidon and Hades have two different goals that contradict each other (both want the humans to die, but if Hades wins, Poseidon can't rule because everything will be frozen and dead) and so they won't share anything.

When Poseidon kidnapped Athena, at most, it would be a rumor for Hades since Poseidon wouldn't want to fight both Hades' and Athena's especially with how small his Army is. By leaving the Golds at Sanctuary, Hades wouldn't be able to tell if Athena was there or not. Strategically, he would ask the same thing "why would the Gold Saints guard an empty Sanctuary?"

This was a very common tactic used in World War Two by the Allies. One of the most notable was Operation Fortitude where in order to divert German reinforcements at Normandy by using inflatable tanks. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Fortitude

Hades knows that attacking Sanctuary is risky. Sanctuary, since you can't teleport straight into it is just one narrow corridor where his great Army would not matter much since they could only get so many through at a time (think the Persians vs 300, same strategy. Don't forget, the 300 died only when they got flanked through a hidden path). Look at the conversation that Rhadamanthys and Pandora had. Rhadamanthys wanted to charge right in, Pandora told him no, he did it anyways. The only one that died was Aldebaran, but 13 Specters died in the process, nearly all of them by Shaka. It is why for him, sending Dead Gold Saints to retrieve Athena's head was the best way to draw them out thus leading the Golds to the open Hades' Castle where Rhadamanthys alone defeated them.

In Hades' eyes, if the Bronze Saints kill his enemy, he'd be okay with it since it would be one less God to deal with, but in his eyes, since the Bronze Saints are the lowest class, he could dismiss it as just some strike against Poseidon.

If the Gold Saints did go to Poseidon, that would put them in the worst position of not only fending off Hades from one side while trying to retrieve Athena on the other. Even if Poseidon's forces are small, they still have Athena and could threaten her life at any time making an already difficult task even harder.

Imagine all Twelve, hell all the remaining Saints including the Steel Saints standing in front of the Great Bread Winner against all seven of Poseidon's Generals as well as Poseidon himself with him holding Athena while a hundred and eight Specters are behind them.

Going covert with the Bronze Saints is the best way to ensure Hades does not enter the equation since the Gold's can't win if both sides are attacking them at once.

They didn't buy the rights for all the episodes. If they want to release new stuff they have to get the rights from episode 61 to 114...

I was thinking the 5th movie :p

Why is every US Saint Seiya release incomplete?
