Soul of Gold / Re: Soul of Gold 2!! :D
« on: June 15, 2017, 09:02:22 AM »
Do you mean a promo for the Spanish dub of SoG? I could see that, but why would they include the exclusive 'Gold Saints with Libra Weapons' in the entire opening? Unless Toei is just going "Soul of Gold was a thing. Hey. These figures are also a thing. Buy them." XD

Speaking of Spanish dub, has anyone seen episodes of the dub posted yet?

I didn't notice they had the libra weapons. Could be just some thing they wanted for the spanish dub release :)

Misc Anime News / Live-Action feature

So you all may have heard we were getting a live action feature right?

Here's some more info :)

Quote
Japan’s Toei Animation is teaming with Hong Kong-based A Really Good Film Company (ARGF) to produce an English-language, live-action film version of hot Toei anime property Saint Seiya: Knights Of The Zodiac.

Based on Masami Kurumada’s best-selling manga, Saint Seiya is one of the world’s biggest animated franchises, with total revenue of more than $1.1bn since 1986. Toei Animation has produced over 250 TV episodes and six features, which were released in over 80 countries. The original manga by Masami Kurumada has sold over 35 million copies.

ARGF has joined Toei Animation as its development and China co-production partner for the live-action version and will be handling Greater China distribution.

Yoshi Ikezawa and Joseph Chou of Toei Animation will serve as producers, along with ARGF founder Jeffrey Chan, who is also COO of Bona Film Group. Tim Kwok of Convergence Entertainment, Miguel Faura and Kozo Morishita of Toei Animation are executive producing with Kurumada.

The story of Saint Seiya follows a group of mystical warriors, the Saints, who are sworn protectors of the reincarnated Greek goddess Athena as she battles other Olympian gods to save mankind. Each of the Saints wears a powerful sacred armour based on their chosen zodiac constellation.

Kurumada said: “This is for our loyal fanbase who have supported Seiya for the last 30 years as well as the new generation of fans.

Toei Animation chairman Kozo Morishita said: “We are very excited to be partnering with ARGF to bring this title to a worldwide audience as a live-action feature film, which we hope to be the first of many more to come from Toei’s large IP stable.”

Chan said: “After almost two years of developing the project with my fellow producers, it still feels surreal to me to be able to work on such a fantastic animation franchise of which I’m a big fan myself.”

ARGF is an investment, production and acquisition vehicle under Just Creative Studio, the newly-formed joint venture between the Bona Film Group and Nansun Shi’s N&J Enterprises. The company previously produced Eric Koo’s In the Room and acquired Toei International’s Midnight Diner 2 for China distribution.

Anime/Manga / Re: Gundam Franchise
« on: May 18, 2017, 01:51:29 AM »
I haven't really watched any Gundam shows yet (only some episodes of dubbed Gundam Wing), but I'm already a fangirl thanks to Super Robot Wars V. XD All the Gundam characters from the game are interesting and I'm just amazed at how much Riddhe's moods change his face. He looks like a baby most of the time, and then he gets pissed off and boards the Banshee.

Kincade/Seabook also seems to be the type of character I like most in my fantasy books - the practical, calm and smart type who offers brotherly advice to anyone who needs it. Tobia is adorable. Amuro is just classic and Toru Furuya is always fun to listen to. And Shuuichi Ikeda sounds good no matter who he voices (Full Frontal looks worse unmasked than Char does, but Ikeda makes up for it~). Tbh, the SEED and 00 casts are kind of unmemorable... none of them really impress me in any way (except Sumeragi). ...And I never knew Nozomu Sasaki plays Hathaway; it was a complete surprise how he sounds so... normal. He smoked years ago to change his voice and he normally sounds really raspy and creepy these days, but Hathaway somehow retains the tone of his younger days.

I've developed an aversion to Iron-Blooded Orphans and I don't know why. It's one of the few Gundam shows I'm not interested in, except for one character (Gaelio because he looks good when he gets serious later, plus I love his voice actor since he's perfect at playing sassy characters and psychopaths... like Jua-Mu when he goes crazy in Super Robot Wars OG). ...Are any of the modern Gundam shows besides Unicorn and Origin worth watching? Like AGE, Gunpla Builders, Reconquista, Iron-Blooded Orphans, Build Fighters, BB Senshi Sangokuden, Thunderbolt, upcoming Twilight Axis?

I would recommend Gundam 00 if you like more reality based shows. If you like Gunpla models, then you should watch the build fighters series. AGE is well, opinions are very varied on the show. If you like to see generational shifts in anime, then this is for you. I would not recommend reconquista or iron blooded.

I've watched Thunderbolt, but it's very dramatic and not for everyone.

I'm interested in AXIS

Woah they already have actors? Is that official?

There's still no more information other than that there will be a live action movie. IMDB can be edited by anyone, and is in no way considered official. :)

I think he means this arrow was different than the Arrow with the Sagittarius Gold Cloth during the classic series, meaning this old arrow was lost until recently.

Ooooh, now i get it xD
